International Monetary and Trade Organizations

Standing intergovernmental organizations that govern the international monetary system, international trade rules, or cross-border labor and economic-policy coordination, including the IMF, WTO and its predecessor GATT, the ILO, the OECD and UNCTAD. Belongs here: treaty-based or charter-based bodies with ongoing institutional authority over monetary, trade or labor policy among member states. Does not belong here: informal or rotating-presidency forums that coordinate policy without a standing regulatory charter, grouped under Economic Forums and Coordinating Bodies, or development lenders whose function is project finance rather than monetary or trade governance, grouped under Multilateral Development Banks and Institutions.
