The International Trade Centre, known as the ITC, is a multilateral agency headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, established January 1, 1968 as successor to the International Trade Information Centre that GATT had created in 1964 to help developing countries expand their exports. It holds a joint mandate under the World Trade Organization and the United Nations, exercised through the UN Conference on Trade and Development, and its roughly 300 staff of more than eighty nationalities serve as the focal point for trade-related technical assistance, running education and training programs and supporting micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and the business and government bodies of developing countries.
