School-of-thought entities are the named traditions of economic reasoning this atlas documents, from classical and Marxian political economy through neoclassical, Keynesian, monetarist, Austrian, institutionalist, behavioral and post-Keynesian schools and their contemporary descendants. This is the atlas's own organizing spine rather than a subdivided category: an economist's primary school affiliation, an event's competing schools' explanations, and a concept's theoretical home all link back to a school entity here, so browsing by school is browsing the field by its live intellectual disputes, most visibly the real three-way disagreements over causes of the Depression and the 2008 crisis this atlas states plainly rather than flattening into one settled account.
