The Saudi Exchange, known as Tadawul, is Saudi Arabia's stock exchange, based in Riyadh. Formal trading on the market dates back to the 1950s, but the exchange was reorganized as a joint-stock company and the sole licensed securities exchange in the kingdom in 2007. As of July 2024 it ranked as the thirteenth-largest exchange in the world by market capitalization, exceeding three trillion dollars, with 239 companies listed on its main market, making it one of the principal financial markets of the Gulf region.
