The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, known as MinFin, is responsible for Russia's financial policy and general management of public finance. Its present form was established in 1992 out of the Soviet-era finance ministry, and it traces an institutional lineage back to the Expedition of State Revenues created in the Russian Empire on October 24, 1780; it is headquartered on Ilinka Street in central Moscow.
