India's Ministry of Finance is the government ministry responsible for the country's economy, established on October 29, 1946 and headquartered in New Delhi. It prepares the Union Budget and oversees taxation, financial legislation, financial institutions, capital markets, currency and banking, and it administers four central civil services: the Indian Revenue Service, the Indian Audit and Accounts Service, the Indian Economic Service and the Indian Civil Accounts Service.
