Brazil's Ministry of Finance was established March 11, 1808 as the Secretaria de Estado dos Negocios do Brasil e da Fazenda and is headquartered in the Esplanada dos Ministerios in Brasilia. Operating under the president's supervision, it formulates and implements the country's economic, fiscal and financial policy.
