Korea Exchange is the sole operator of securities exchanges in South Korea, established in 1956 and reorganized into its present form through the integration of the Korea Stock Exchange, the Korea Futures Exchange, and the KOSDAQ Stock Market under the Korea Stock and Futures Exchange Act; those three predecessor exchanges continue to operate as its stocks, derivatives, and technology-market divisions. It is headquartered in Busan, with an office in Seoul overseeing cash-market operations.
