China Chengxin Credit Rating Group, established in Beijing on October 8, 1992, was the first nationwide credit rating company in China. Its international arm, China Chengxin International Credit Rating, was formed in 1999 as a joint venture with Fitch Ratings and the International Finance Corporation, and Moody's Corporation acquired a thirty percent stake in the venture in 2006 while the remainder is held by Beijing Zhixiang Information Management Consulting. The group has since expanded to Hong Kong through China Chengxin (Asia Pacific), licensed there in 2012, and as of 2024 operates from five offices across Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
