The Centre for Economic Policy Research is an independent, non-partisan, pan-European nonprofit research organization founded in 1983 by the economist Richard Portes, headquartered in Paris after relocating there from London in 2021. It promotes and disseminates economic research relevant to policy through a network of more than 2,000 affiliated economists across over 330 institutions in some 30 countries, publishing over 1,000 discussion papers a year and maintaining an archive of more than 20,000 papers that ranks third worldwide in economics working-paper downloads.
