A.M. Best Company is an American credit rating agency headquartered in Oldwick, New Jersey, founded in 1899 and focused specifically on the insurance industry. Both the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners have designated it a Nationally Recognized Statistical Rating Organization, and its ratings are widely used to assess the financial strength of insurance and reinsurance companies worldwide.
