Knut Wicksell (1851-1926) was a Swedish economist, a founding figure of the Stockholm School. He developed the concept of the natural rate of interest and the cumulative process theory, explaining how divergence between market and natural interest rates drives inflation or deflation. His work influenced both Austrian capital theory and later Keynesian macroeconomics and monetary policy design.
