Bertil Ohlin (1899-1979) was a Swedish economist and politician, a leading figure of the Stockholm School. With his teacher Eli Heckscher he co-developed the Heckscher-Ohlin model of international trade, explaining trade patterns through countries' relative factor endowments. He shared the 1977 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences with James Meade.
